There's No Place Like the Details: Seville Home on the Kansas City Ballet Blog
Kansas City Ballet's costume director and our designers compared notes on fit, fabric and color. The ballet wrote up the afternoon.

Before the curtain went up on The Wizard of Oz, Kansas City Ballet Costume Director Jennifer Carroll brought Dorothy's dress and several Emerald City costumes to our Leawood showroom for a photo shoot. The ballet wrote about the afternoon on its blog in "There's No Place Like the Details," and we're honored to be part of it.
The story follows Senior Interior Designer Becky Mosby and Jessica Gordon as they compare notes with Jennifer on what makes a costume, or a room, feel finished. For Becky, it starts with fit, the same instinct that shows up in a sofa as straight stitching and well-fitted cushions. "Details really do make the difference," she told the ballet.

Becky brought a green velvet for the Emerald City. Jessica brought a blush fabric threaded with metallic gold. Jennifer shared how the show's Kansas costumes stay muted and plain while the Oz costumes turn vivid, so the audience feels the shift the moment the curtain rises. A well-designed home works the same way: every texture and color is chosen so the whole room tells one story.
